Dear friends and sponsors of ABC,
I am glad to present to you some of our old students and what they are doing in this blog. Since we started working in partnership with ABC Barnahjalp in 1993, more than 1200
students have completed their studies successfully. They are all happy standing on their own feet and living a comfortable life. They are
grateful to their sponsors and ABC for helping them and making their dreams come to pass.

Many students who finshed their studies and graduated with a Diploma or a Degree are doing jobs in different places and
different departments. Some are health workers in hospitals, some are working in diagnostic clinics, some are automobile mechanics, some are electricians, some are in hotel industry, some are
tailors, some are working for the government, some are teachers, some are lecturers in colleges and some are doing their own business.
They are everywhere ! They surprise me by coming to me and shaking hands with me ! Some have grown so big that I find it to difficult to recognize them ! But they recognize me
and tell me who they are ! When they tell me how they are doing and how happy they are , I am
always blessed and my eyes are filled with tears!
I cannot help crying because I could remeber them coming to me hungry and homeless. But today they are standing on their feet, confident and courageous !!

It was all made possible by your help and support through ABC in Iceland. We are
always grateful to the sponsors and donors for their sacrificial giving and making the lives of the unfortunate children fortunate enough to live their dreams and build their
lives,sucessfully.
Manda Rama Devi and Manda Dhana Laksmi were street
children before they were brought to Little Lights in 1993 by a Pastor who found them. They were very small , helpless ,
hungry and sick. We took them gladly into our arms and comforted them. They began to grow up and it was a big surprise for us and for both sisters that they became graduates. Ramadevi is a science(B.Sc) graduate and Dhanalaksmi is an arts graduate (B.A) They are working as teachers at a school
Same is the story of Gandhi and his sister Suneetha. They
lost their father and mother and were brought to Little Lights by their grand parents. Both
of them graduated with a degree in Commerce (Banking) and working for a bank

We will continue to post more pictures and update the blog. We are all grateful to the Lord , ABC, ICELAND and all the sponsors for their continued help and support for the children to build a
better future for themselves with education.
Best regards

Dear Friends,
Warm love and greetings from Little Lights !
We are glad to say that the Lord is sustaining Little Lights by supplying all of their needs , miraculously. Because of little rain and poor harvest the prices of all food items became four
times higher than they were last year. None the less the Lord is giving us enough wisdom to use our money PRAYERFULLY AND CAREFULLY. He is leading us to right places and right people to do
purchases for the orphanage.
Vegetable
farmer :
Vegetables became more expensive and we were finding it very difficult to buy enough vegetables for the orphanage. We need 300 kilos of vegetables everyday for the orphanage. A vegetable farmer who
lived far from the market had no transportation and he was unable to take his vegetables to market before they were spoiled. We found him in the market and told him we would buy his vegetables
right at his door if he could sell them to
us for a better price and even half. Since he was paying lot of money for transportation he accepted our offer and we are now buying fresh vegetables from the farmer for half the price. This
is a miracle because it is very difficult to find a farmer who would sell his produce without taking it to market.
Eden
valley
At Eden Valley we planted Spinach, Beans , Ochra, Gourds and other vegetables for the children . Since there was no rain for many months the plants were drying up. We were very much worried because
we did not know what to do. When I shared the news with girls , some of them asked me to take them to the farm so that they can pray for rain. We took them to Eden Valley by bus and they all prayed and asked the Lord to send
rain.
It was evening and while they were getting ready to leave, we saw dark clouds all over and it began to pour heavily. It rained so
heavil y that we could not move out for two hours. The joy of the girls knew no bounds. They shouted for joy and thanked the Lord for answering their prayers. It was a miracle because we
found no rain elsewhere. Eden Valley was enclosed by mountains and it rained within the valley. The rain was a great blessing because, if it had not rained we would have lost all of
our vegetable
plants.
Excellence of Little
Lights : This year the X class students got a very good percentage of marks in their annual exams conducted by the government. To exceed 500 is considered to be remarkable by the
government. At Little Lights seven students both boys and girls scored more than 500 in their exams. They were appreciated by the town officials and the news papers wrote stories about their
success.
Water sources :
Because of continued drought water sources have dried up everywhere and there was a cute shortage of water in our region. We were very much worried because it wouldn't be possible to bring so much
of water from outside for the children. We asked all children to pray for water and we are glad to say our bore wells are continuously supplying enough water for the children everyday. We thank the
Lord for His mercy.
Dream fulfilled :
Malathi was born in a Hindu family and her both parents died before she knew them. She was brought to Little Lights when she was a small child. She came to know Jesus at Little Lights and she was praying to Jesus to make her a nurse. But she was always doubtful if she could pass her X class to go to college.
In April she passed her X class with A grade . She could not believe it! She says it was Jesus Who helped her graduate from high school! Now she is studying to be a nurse
at our Vocational college and she is happy the Lord has fulfilled her dream.
The Lord is doing many wonders at Little Lights as we see them happening in the life of every child everyday. Children are blessed with good food, clothing , health and education. They never
thought or dreamed that this would happen in their life. They are excited to have found Jesus and they believe Him for every need. They rejoice in the Lord and thank Him for every blessing.
Once again we thank you for your kindness in these hard times and we would like to tell you we are praying for you, your family and your work. God will bless and prosper you .
Best regards
Samuel

Dear Sponsors and friends.
Warm love and greetings from Little Lights !
I am glad to tell you all children are doing well and keeping themselves happy and healthy. They are going to school and pursuing their studies.
Students who have finished their education are finding jobs and living on their own. They are very grateful to their sponsors for blessing them with good education and changing their
life. I will post some of their stories in my next
blog.
We are running 1)Degree college, 2)Jr.College
3) Women's Junior college 4) Vocational college 5) Boys high school 6) Girls high school 7) Vocational school and 8)Elementary school.
(Picture on the right is from Johannes visit)
After high school children are free to choose any co
urse they want
to study. Vocational college is for two years, junior college is for two years and degree college (under graduates) is for three years
At Vocational college students study Nursing, Medical lab Technology, Auto Mobile engineering, Electronics, Hotel management and fashion designing.
After finishing 10 class children can go to Vocational school where they learn different trades such as, Electrician, Plumbing, Mechanism, Dairy farming, Agriculture, Masonery, Painting, tailoring
and computers.
Degree college is for three years. The undergraduate courses
are B.A ( Arts or social work) B.SC. (Science and maths) B.Com ( Commerce or business).
Our vision for the children living at Little Lights is to educate them and teach them to be self
supporting. We help them be good citizens and good samaritans.
We thank all our sponsors for their partnership to
build the lives of the poor and hungry children and make their dreams come true.
Children are very grateful to their sponsor parents as are praying for them and their families, everyday.
Elementary school is from class 1 to 5. Their school is from 10 to 12:30 in the morning and 1 to 3 in the evening. They learn reading, writing, maths, social science and TELUGU
language..
Boys and girls sit separately in classrooms. But they live together and play together.
Children help themselves and help one another. They do their
washing on week ends. They soap their wash and beat them on the rocks and wash off the dirt. They rinse their wash in water and dry them on the ground.
Girls do a better job than boys. They keep their clothes more clean and colorful !
This is REKJAVIK-1. We call it KIDS' Home because smaller kids live here. It has four large
dormitories. Boys are living in the dormitories and girls are living in a seperate block. We hope girls will soon have Rekjavik -2 and the Lord will bless
them.
Evening schools continue to be a great blessing to poor and hungry
children of DALITS(former untouchables) Many are Christians and they hardly survive on less than a Dollar a day. They cannot get it when they cannot find work to do. Children are made
child laborers for small wages they earn.
At Evening schools children are happy and enjoying their school life
Christmas was colorful at Little
Lights. Children gave a presentaion of music and drama , which was entertaining. Girls a gave a performance of dance and boys gave a presentation of the birth of Jesus.
Visitors visiting their sponsored children and asking "how many fingers are these?"
We would appreciate if sponsors stop sending gifts in the mail. They are either lost or damaged and many times they never reach us. Children are receiving letters from their
sponsors and they will send their replies very soon.
Our prayers are with you and please know your children are praying for you everyday. They love you and are sending you their love and hugs.
Please visit www.abc.is and contact ABC Barnahjalp to sponsor a child.
